About us

Coordination Office for Gas and Hydrogen Network Development Planning (KO·NEP)

The Coordination Office works on the basis of Section 15a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and coordinates the rolling process of network development planning for the transmission and hydrogen transport network by the transmission system operators (TSOs) and the regulated operators of hydrogen transport networks.

The network planning process

From scenario framework to implementation report

The integrated network development plan for gas and hydrogen is presented every two years. It is preceded by the detailed scenario framework.

The scenario framework contains assumptions on the development of production, supply and consumption as well as on exchanges with other countries. Based on the scenario framework confirmed by the BNetzA, the parties involved draft the grid development plan. This is also checked and confirmed by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA).
