On April 30, 2025, the Federal Network Agency approved the gas and hydrogen scenario framework for the Network Development Plan 2025-2037\/2045. Together with the scenario framework for electricity, it forms the basis for coordinated planning of Germany’s energy infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n

The scenario framework contains several scenarios that reflect different developments in gas consumption, renewable energies, hydrogen use and the phase-out of natural gas. For the first time, joint assumptions for electricity and gas\/hydrogen grids are also used to enable integrated infrastructure planning. The approved scenarios now serve as the basis for the 1st draft of the Gas and Hydrogen Network Development Plan 2025-2037\/2045. <\/p>\n\n
